Dr Andreas Kyriacou is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist specialising in complex heart rhythm disorders, cardiac ablation procedures, pacemakers and implantable cardiac devices. Since 2015 he has served at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and currently leads Arrhythmia Services within the Cardiothoracic Centre.

He also collaborates with the German Medical Institute, providing expert arrhythmia consultations and advanced interventional procedures.

Professional Biography

Dr Kyriacou graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2001 before gaining extensive clinical experience across Edinburgh and London. In 2007 he received the prestigious Walport Academic Clinical Fellowship in Cardiology awarded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).

He completed advanced cardiology training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and further specialised in complex cardiac arrhythmias at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. His expertise includes catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and implantation of advanced pacemakers and defibrillators.

Awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Fellowship, he earned his PhD from Imperial College London. His internationally recognised research focuses on cardiac pacing technologies and innovative approaches to improve heart function and patient outcomes.

His work has received numerous prestigious honours, including the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Association Young Investigator Award and presentations at the UK Parliament’s SET for Britain programme.
